Living For What Matters

Welcome! My name is Dr. Michael Edward Nichols. I’ve been blessed to be in ministry for the last forty years. My wonderful wife Julie and I have been married for thirty-seven years and we have three amazing adult children: Sarah (husband Jake), Jason (wife Chelsea), and Samantha (husband Josh), as well as three precious grandchildren.

I spent ten years serving in what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I am now a Professor of Intercultural Studies at Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Illinois, where I’ve taught for over 25 years (since 1994). As a professor I’ve been able to lead a number of short-term trips, mentor dozens of young people, and serve as interim preaching minister at local churches.  Since the spring of 2017, I have also had the privilege of serving as the Teaching Pastor at the Mason City Christian Church in Mason City, IL.

The two great passions of my life are youth and missions. This website is my way of sharing some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned along the way. I hope it will be a resource for you both personally and professionally.
